Talking Points
- Numbers are like labels for how many things there are. When we see the number 5, it means we have five of something.
- Say: "Let's count together. One, two, three, four, five. The number we write to show we have five is 5."
- When we write numbers, we use symbols like 1, 2, 3, and so on. Each symbol represents a different amount of things.
- Say: "Can you draw five dots on the paper? This is what the number 5 looks like when we show it with dots."
- Numbers help us understand how many things we have. It's like a special code that tells us the amount of something.
