Objective

By the end of this lesson, Pria will enhance her cognitive and creative development through exploring construction using blocks and loose parts play.

Materials and Prep

Materials:

  • Various blocks (wooden, plastic, foam)
  • Assorted loose parts (buttons, cotton balls, pipe cleaners)
  • Empty cardboard boxes or trays for building platforms

Prep:

  • Clear a safe and spacious play area
  • Sort the blocks and loose parts for easy access
  • Have examples of simple structures to inspire creativity

Activities

1. Free Play: Allow Pria to freely explore the blocks and loose parts, encouraging her to build and create without any specific instructions.

2. Shape Matching: Show Pria different shapes and ask her to find blocks that match those shapes, promoting cognitive recognition and problem-solving skills.

3. Building Together: Collaborate with Pria to build a structure together, teaching her about teamwork and coordination.

4. Storytelling with Blocks: Encourage Pria to create a story using the structures she builds, enhancing her imaginative and narrative skills.
