Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify and match a toy with a letter based on its sound or name.
Materials and Prep
Materials: Various toys, alphabet cards
Prep: None required
Activities
1. Let's sit on the carpet together. Each of us will choose a letter from the alphabet cards.
2. Once we have our letters, we will take turns finding a toy that matches the sound or name of our chosen letter.
3. We will then show the toy to each other and say the name of the toy and the letter it matches.
Talking Points
- "Let's pick a letter from these cards. I choose the letter 'B'. What letter do you want to choose?"
- "Now, let's search for a toy that starts with the same sound as our chosen letter. I found a ball for 'B'. What did you find?"
- "Great job! Let's show each other our toys and say the name of the toy and the letter it matches. This is my ball for 'B'!"
- "Now, let's switch roles. You choose a letter this time. What toy did you find for that letter?"
