Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to recognize and identify different letters of the alphabet.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: paper, crayons/markers. No prior knowledge required.

Activities

  • Letter Hunt: Hide paper letters around the room and have the student find and name each letter they find.

  • Letter Coloring: Print out large letters for the student to color. As they color, have them say the letter out loud.

  • Alphabet Song: Sing the alphabet song together. Encourage the student to sing along and point to letters as they sing.

Talking Points

  • "Letters are like pictures that make sounds. Let's find some letters together!"

  • "When you color a letter, say its name out loud. Can you find the letter 'A'?"

  • "Let's sing the alphabet song! A, B, C, D... What letter comes after 'G'?"
