Materials and Prep
- Colorful toys or objects (red ball, blue block, yellow car, etc.)
- Color flashcards or color swatches
- Clear space for activities
Activities
- Color Hunt: Hide colorful toys around the room and have your child find them. As they find each toy, ask them to name the color.
- Color Sorting: Use color flashcards or swatches and have your child sort toys or objects by color.
- Color Mixing: Show how mixing two colors can create a new color. Let your child mix watercolors or play with colored playdough.
Talking Points
- Red: "Red is the color of apples and fire. Can you find something red in the room?"
- Blue: "Blue is the color of the sky and the ocean. What do you see that is blue?"
- Yellow: "Yellow is the color of the sun and bananas. Can you point to something yellow?"
