Objective
By the end of this lesson, Mikhael and Gavriel will have explored their surroundings through a nature walk scavenger hunt, identifying different colors, shapes, plants, and animal tracks. They will enhance their observation skills and learn to appreciate the natural world around them.
Materials and Prep
- No materials are needed, just Mikhael and Gavriel's curiosity!
- Before the lesson, familiarize yourself with local plants and animals that might be found during the walk.
- Choose a safe and accessible area for the nature walk, such as a park or backyard.
Activities
- Color Hunt:
During the nature walk, Mikhael and Gavriel will look for different colors in nature. They can find a red flower, a green leaf, or a blue sky! Encourage them to point out and name the colors they see.
- Shape Search:
Ask Mikhael and Gavriel to find different shapes in nature. They can look for round rocks, square leaves, or triangular trees. This will help them connect shapes to the world around them.
- Plant Identification:
Encourage the boys to observe various plants and try to identify them. They can describe the leaves, flowers, and stems. You can discuss which plants are flowers, bushes, or trees.
- Animal Track Discovery:
While walking, look for animal tracks in the dirt or mud. Discuss what animals might have made the tracks and where they might be going. This will ignite their imagination and curiosity about wildlife.
