- Optional: Colored markers or stickers for decoration
Before starting the lesson, make sure the writing area is clear and comfortable for the student. Prepare the paper and writing tools so they are easily accessible.
Activities
-
Letter Tracing:
Draw large letters on the paper or chalkboard. The student can trace over the letters with their pencil or crayon. This helps them learn the shape of each letter.
-
Alphabet Song:
Sing the alphabet song together! This fun activity helps the student remember the order of the letters and makes learning enjoyable.
-
Letter Art:
Encourage the student to draw a picture of something that starts with each letter. For example, “A is for Apple.” They can write the letter next to their drawing!
-
Letter Hunt:
Ask the student to find items around the house that start with each letter of the alphabet. They can draw or write the letters next to the items they find.
-
Story Time:
Read a short story together that includes a lot of letters. Ask the student to point out letters as you read, reinforcing their recognition skills.
