Before starting the lesson, make sure you have a comfortable reading area set up with pillows or a cozy chair.
Activities

Story Time Snuggles
Choose a favorite book and invite your child to snuggle up with you as you read aloud. Encourage them to point out familiar words or pictures in the book.

Word Hunt
Write or print out simple words on flashcards and hide them around the room. Encourage your child to find the hidden words and read them out loud.

Word Collage
Give your child a piece of construction paper and ask them to cut out pictures or words from old magazines or catalogs. Help them glue the cutouts onto the paper to create a collage of words and images.

Draw and Write
Provide your child with markers or crayons and a blank piece of paper. Ask them to draw a picture of their favorite character or scene from a book they recently read. Encourage them to write a sentence or two describing their drawing.
