Objective

By the end of this lesson, Brooklynn will be able to recognize and write the letter 'S', understand its sound, and identify words that begin with 'S'. She will also learn some fun facts about the letter 'S' in different subjects like English, History, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

Activities

  • Letter S Art: Brooklynn can draw and color pictures of things that start with the letter 'S', such as a sun or a star. This will help her visualize the letter and its sound.

  • S Sound Hunt: Go on a scavenger hunt around the house to find items that start with 'S'. Brooklynn can make a list of her findings and practice writing the letter 'S' next to each item.

  • Silly Stories: Create a short story together that includes as many 'S' words as possible. Brooklynn can illustrate her story, making it a fun and creative activity.

  • Number S Count: Count how many 'S' letters are in a short poem or sentence. Brooklynn can write down the sentence and circle each 'S' she finds.

  • Science with S: Talk about simple science facts related to 'S', like "Stars are big balls of burning gas!" and "Snakes are reptiles that can slither!"
