Objective

By the end of this lesson, Daniella and Alisia will be able to identify various animals and their habitats, understand the importance of each habitat, and express their creativity through art and writing.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper (for drawing and writing)
  • Pencils and colored pencils or crayons
  • Books or printed materials about animals and their habitats (if available)
  • A quiet space for reading and creating
  • Access to a computer or tablet for research (optional)

Before the lesson, it would be helpful to gather some information about different animals and their habitats. This could include reading materials or a quick online search if possible.

Activities

  • Animal Habitat Exploration:

Daniella and Alisia will choose their favorite animal and research its habitat. They can draw a picture of the animal in its habitat and write a few sentences about what makes that habitat special.

  • Creative Writing:

Each student will write a short story or a poem about an adventure their chosen animal has in its habitat. They can include other animals, plants, and challenges the animal faces.

  • Artistic Representation:

Using the information gathered, the students will create a 3D model of the habitat using paper, drawing materials, or any craft supplies they might have at home. This can be a fun way to visualize the environment!
