Objective
By the end of this lesson, Lina will learn how to use pasting techniques to create a fun spider craft. She will enhance her fine motor skills, creativity, and understanding of spiders in a playful way.
Materials and Prep
- Paper (any color for the background)
- Black paper (for the spider's body and legs)
- Glue (for pasting)
- Scissors (for cutting shapes)
- Markers or crayons (for decorating)
Before the lesson, make sure to have all materials ready and create a safe space for cutting and gluing. It might be helpful to prepare some spider shapes on the black paper for Lina to cut out, but she can also create her own shapes!
Activities
-
Spider Shape Cutting: Lina will cut out spider shapes from the black paper. Encourage her to make different sizes and shapes of spiders. This activity will help her practice her cutting skills.
-
Pasting the Spider: After cutting out the spiders, Lina will glue them onto the colored paper. She can arrange them in different ways to create her own spider scene, helping her learn about composition.
-
Decorating the Spider: Using markers or crayons, Lina can add eyes, legs, and other fun details to her spider. This allows her to express her creativity and personalize her craft.
-
Story Time: After completing the spider craft, read a short story about spiders. This will help Lina connect her craft to real-life spiders and learn more about them.
Talking Points
- "Look at all the different shapes we can make! What shape do you think a spider is?"
- "Can you count how many legs our spider has? Let's count together!"
- "What colors do you want to use to make your spider special?"
- "Did you know that some spiders can spin webs? What do you think a web looks like?"
