Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will understand how regular physical activity helps keep our bodies healthy and strong. They will learn through fun activities that show the importance of moving our bodies every day.

Materials and Prep

  • No special materials are needed for this lesson.
  • Make sure to have a safe space for movement, like a backyard or living room.
  • Be prepared to demonstrate some fun movements and games.

Activities

  • Movement Warm-Up:

    Start with a fun warm-up! Play some music and dance together. Encourage the student to stretch their arms and legs, and shake their bodies. This gets the heart pumping!

  • Animal Walks:

    Take turns pretending to be different animals. Crawl like a bear, hop like a frog, or waddle like a penguin. This activity is not only fun but also helps with strength and coordination.

  • Obstacle Course:

    Set up a simple obstacle course using furniture or outdoor items. Jump over cushions, crawl under tables, and run around chairs. This will show how moving our bodies can be exciting and good for us!

  • Cool Down and Stretch:

    After all the fun, take a few minutes to cool down. Sit together and stretch your arms and legs. Talk about how our bodies feel after moving a lot.
