Objective
By the end of this lesson, RR will be able to spell and use 10 new words correctly in sentences. This will help improve RR's vocabulary and confidence in writing and speaking.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Pencil or colored markers
- A timer (optional)
- A list of 10 spelling words (which can be chosen together with RR)
Before the lesson, choose 10 fun and interesting words that RR would like to learn. Make sure they are age-appropriate and not too difficult.
Activities
-
Word Wizard
RR will become a "Word Wizard" by writing each spelling word on paper in big, colorful letters. Encourage RR to decorate the words with drawings or designs that relate to the word.
-
Spelling Bee Challenge
Set a timer for 5 minutes and have RR practice spelling each word out loud. You can take turns spelling the words, making it a fun competition!
-
Sentence Creation
For each spelling word, RR will create a silly or fun sentence. This will help RR understand how to use the words in context and make the lesson more enjoyable.
-
Word Hopscotch
Create a hopscotch grid on the floor with the spelling words. RR will hop to each word and spell it out loud as they land on it. This combines physical activity with learning!
