Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to explore and answer four intriguing questions from the books of Genesis and Exodus. They will gain a deeper understanding of the stories, characters, and lessons in these biblical texts, fostering critical thinking and personal reflection.

Materials and Prep

  • Bible (Genesis and Exodus sections)
  • Notebook or journal for writing answers
  • Pencils or pens
  • Art supplies (colored pencils, markers, or crayons)
  • Printed copies of the four questions

Before the lesson, read through the relevant passages in Genesis and Exodus to familiarize yourself with the stories. Prepare the four questions to be discussed during the lesson.

Activities

  • Story Exploration:

Read the selected passages from Genesis and Exodus together. After reading, discuss each story and its main characters. Encourage the student to express what they think about the events and characters.

  • Creative Illustration:

Ask the student to choose their favorite story from Genesis or Exodus and create a colorful drawing or comic strip that depicts the main events. This will help them visualize and remember the story better.

  • Question and Answer Session:

Go through each of the four questions one by one. Allow the student to think critically and write down their answers in their notebook. Discuss their thoughts and encourage them to elaborate on their responses.

  • Reflection Time:

At the end of the lesson, have a quiet moment where the student can reflect on what they learned. They can write a short paragraph in their journal about their favorite part of the lesson and what they found most interesting.
