Welcome to Number Fun, David!

Hello David! Today, we're going to have a super fun time playing with these colorful marbles and this special cube called a die! Are you ready to learn about numbers?

Activity 1: Meet the Die!

Look at this, David! This is a die. It has little dots on its sides. Let's see if we can count them!

(Show David one side of the die at a time. Point to the dots as you count together.)

"Let's count this side... ONE dot! Good job!"

"Now this side... ONE, TWO dots! Fantastic!"

(Continue for sides with 3, 4, 5, and 6 dots, emphasizing the counting process.)

Activity 2: Marble Count Up!

"Great counting, David! Now let's use our pretty marbles."

"Can you help me find ONE marble? Perfect! This is one marble."

"Now, can we find TWO marbles? Let's count them: ONE, TWO. Awesome!"

(Continue this process, asking David to gather and count marbles up to six, if his attention span allows. You can also do this incrementally, e.g., 1-3 first, then 4-6 later.)

Activity 3: Roll, Count, and Match!

"Okay, David, this is the exciting part! Let's roll the die! You can roll it in this tray if you like."

(Let David roll the die.)

"Yay! What number did it land on? Let's count the dots together!"

(Count the dots on the top face of the die with David.)

"So, if the die shows [say the number] dots, how many marbles do we need? That's right, [say the number] marbles! Let's count out [say the number] marbles."

(Guide David to count out the corresponding number of marbles. Repeat this rolling and matching game several times. Keep it playful and praise his efforts enthusiastically.)

Example: If he rolls a 4: "Wow, you rolled a... let's count: ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR! Four dots! So we need four marbles. Can you find four marbles for me? ONE... TWO... THREE... FOUR! You got it!"

Wrap-up: Super Number Star!

"David, you were amazing today! You learned to count with the die and the a marbles! We counted one, two, three, four, five, and six! You are a number superstar!"

"High five! We had so much fun with numbers, and we can play this game again whenever you like!"
