Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify and recognize all the letters of the alphabet.
Materials and Prep
- Alphabet flashcards
- Whiteboard or paper
- Markers or crayons
Activities
-
Start by introducing the alphabet to the student. Show them the flashcards one by one and say the name of each letter. Encourage the student to repeat after you.
-
After introducing all the letters, ask the student to choose a letter and write it on the whiteboard or paper. Help them if needed. Repeat this step for a few different letters.
-
Next, play a game of "Alphabet Hunt". Hide the flashcards around the room and ask the student to find them one by one. As they find each card, have them say the name of the letter out loud.
-
To reinforce their understanding of the alphabet, give the student a coloring sheet with various objects or animals. Ask them to color the objects that start with a specific letter. For example, if the letter is "A", they can color the apple, airplane, and alligator.
