Second Grade Talking Points
- "Characters are the people or animals in a story. They do things and have feelings."
- "Setting is where and when a story happens. It can be a real place or a made-up place."
- "Main events are the most important things that happen in a story. They help us understand what the story is about."
- "When we talk about a book, it's important to support our ideas with evidence from the text. That means we can find information in the book to help explain our thoughts."
- "Retelling a story means telling the important parts of the story in our own words. We can include the beginning, middle, and end to make sure we cover everything."
