Activities
- Show the alphabet flashcards to the student one by one. Ask them to name the letter and make its sound. Repeat this activity until the student becomes familiar with all the letters.
- Write a letter on the whiteboard or blackboard and ask the student to identify it and say its sound. Encourage them to trace the letter with their finger while saying the sound.
- Play a game of "I Spy" with the flashcards. Say, "I spy with my little eye something that starts with the sound /b/." The student then needs to find the flashcard with the letter "B" and its corresponding sound.
- Sing the alphabet song together. Encourage the student to sing along and point to the letters on the flashcards as they are mentioned in the song.
- End the lesson by reviewing the letters and their sounds. Show the flashcards again and ask the student to name the letter and make its sound.
