Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand the basics of fire and its impact on the environment.

Materials and Prep

  • Fire safety video or book
  • Firefighter costume or props (optional)
  • Fire-themed coloring sheets or activity sheets
  • Paper and crayons/markers

Activities

  1. Start the lesson by watching a fire safety video or reading a fire safety book together.
  2. Discuss what fire is and how it can be dangerous if not handled properly.
  3. Put on a firefighter costume or use props to pretend to be a firefighter. Talk about the important role firefighters play in keeping us safe from fires.
  4. Provide fire-themed coloring sheets or activity sheets for the student to complete. Encourage them to draw and color different aspects of fire, such as flames, fire trucks, or firefighters.
  5. Engage in a discussion about the impact of fire on the environment. Talk about how fires can harm plants, animals, and their habitats.
  6. Encourage the student to draw a picture showing how fire can be harmful to the environment.
