Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify and use basic English grammar concepts while exploring the world of Taylor Swift.

Materials and Prep

  • Pen or pencil
  • Blank paper
  • Access to Taylor Swift songs or videos

Activities

  1. Listen to a Taylor Swift song of your choice. As you listen, pay attention to the lyrics and try to identify different parts of speech, such as nouns, verbs, and adjectives. Write down at least three examples of each.

  2. Choose one of the Taylor Swift songs you listened to and create your own mini-story using the lyrics. Use proper sentence structure and punctuation. Share your story with a family member or friend.

  3. Watch a Taylor Swift interview or documentary clip. Pay attention to how she uses pronouns to refer to herself and others. Write down at least three examples of pronouns you heard.

  4. Write a short paragraph describing why you like Taylor Swift. Use descriptive words and adjectives to express your thoughts and feelings. Make sure to use correct capitalization and punctuation.
