Welcome to the Pony Naming Party!

Hi there! Today, we're going to have so much fun with your My Little Pony friends and learn about special words called 'naming words,' or nouns! Nouns are words we use to name ponies, places, and things.

Warm-Up: Pony Roll Call! (5 mins)

Let's gather all your pony friends! Can you tell me their names? (Encourage naming each pony, e.g., 'This is Pinkie Pie,' 'This is Twilight Sparkle'). Great job! Those names are special naming words!

Activity 1: What's a Thing? (10 mins)

Look around! Everything we see has a name. A pony is a thing. Your toy car is a thing. This ball is a thing. Words that name things are nouns!

Let's practice. I'll hold up a pony. Is this a 'thing'? Yes! What is its name? (e.g., Fluttershy). What kind of thing is it? (A pony!). Now I'll hold up a block. Is this a 'thing'? Yes! What is this thing called? (A block!).

Let's mix them up! Put all the ponies and other little toys in a pile. Can you pick out only the ponies? Good job! Those are all pony things!

Activity 2: Pony Sorting Fun! (Optional - 10 mins)

(Use hoops or designated areas if available, otherwise just make two piles). Okay, let's play a sorting game! We need one pile for 'Pony Friends' and one pile for 'Other Toys.' Can you help me put all the ponies in their special spot, and all the other toys (like the car, the block, the ball) in the other spot? Wow, you sorted all the things!

Wrap-up: Naming Word Hunt! (5 mins)

You did amazing! You learned that everything has a name, and those naming words are called nouns. Can you point to one more 'thing' in the room and tell me its name? (e.g., Chair, table, book). Fantastic!

Remember, naming words help us talk about all our favorite ponies and toys! Great job today at the Pony Naming Party!
