Objective
By the end of this lesson, the preschool student will be able to recognize and identify numbers in a princess-themed context.
Materials and Prep
- Princess-themed number flashcards (0-10)
- Whiteboard or large paper
- Dry erase markers or markers
Activities
-
Princess Number Match:
Spread out the princess-themed number flashcards on a table or the floor. Encourage the student to pick up a flashcard, identify the number, and find a matching number on the whiteboard or large paper. Repeat this activity until all the flashcards have been matched with their corresponding numbers on the whiteboard.
-
Princess Number Order:
Line up the princess-themed number flashcards in random order. Ask the student to arrange the flashcards in ascending order. Once they have arranged the numbers correctly, celebrate their success and encourage them to say the numbers out loud.
-
Princess Number Hunt:
Hide the princess-themed number flashcards around the room. Give the student a basket or container and ask them to find the hidden numbers. As they find each number, have them identify it and place it in the basket. Once all the numbers have been found, review them together.
