Materials and Prep
- Alphabet flashcards or printed alphabet letters
- Whiteboard or chalkboard
- Whiteboard marker or chalk

Activities
-
Introduction: Start by showing the alphabet flashcards or printed alphabet letters to the student. Ask the student if they recognize any of the letters. Encourage them to name the letters they know.
-
Letter Recognition: Take out one alphabet flashcard or printed letter at a time and ask the student to identify and name the letter. Repeat this process with multiple letters.
-
Letter Sounds: After going through the letter recognition activity, focus on the sounds each letter makes. Show a letter and ask the student if they know the sound it makes. Help them make the sound if needed.
-
Object Matching: Spread out the small objects or toys starting with different alphabet letters. Ask the student to find an object that starts with a specific letter. Encourage them to say the name of the object and the letter it starts with.
-
Review: Go through the alphabet again, asking the student to name the letters and their sounds. Repeat any letters they struggle with.
