Objective
By the end of this lesson, the toddler will be able to recognize and identify numbers using number blocks, while also exploring their creativity through painting.
Materials and Prep
- Number blocks (1-10)
- Paints (assorted colors)
- Paintbrushes
- Plain white paper
- Apron or smock
Note: Make sure the painting area is protected with a plastic sheet or newspaper to avoid any mess.
Activities

Show the toddler the number blocks and explain that each block represents a different number. Demonstrate counting the blocks from 1 to 10.
Give the toddler a blank sheet of paper and ask them to choose a number block. Encourage them to dip the block in paint and stamp it on the paper to create a print. Repeat this process with different number blocks and colors.
After the paintings have dried, ask the toddler to count the number of prints they have made. Help them identify the numbers on each print and reinforce their knowledge of numbers.

- "Let's count the blocks together. Ready? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!"
- "Now it's time to get creative! Choose a number block and dip it in paint."
