Objective
By the end of this lesson, the toddler will be able to identify and appreciate different shapes, colors, and fruits through the creation of car-themed artworks.
Materials and Prep
- White paper
- Markers or crayons
- Assorted fruits (e.g., apple, banana, orange, etc.)
- Toy cars or car pictures
No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Create a Shape Car: Provide the toddler with a sheet of white paper and markers or crayons. Encourage them to draw a car using different shapes such as circles, squares, and triangles. Discuss the shapes they used and the colors they chose for their car.
- Fruit Car Prints: Cut various fruits in half (e.g., apple, banana, orange) and dip them in washable paint. Let the toddler press the fruit halves onto the paper to create colorful car prints. Talk about the different fruits and their colors as they create their artwork.
- Colorful Car Collage: Show the toddler pictures of different cars or provide them with toy cars. Ask them to sort the cars by color and create a collage using the cars and pictures. Discuss the colors they used and the names of the fruits they sorted.
