Introduce the alphabet flashcards to the student. Show each flashcard and say the letter sound out loud.
-
Place the picture cards with objects in front of the student. Ask them to identify the object and say the beginning letter sound.
-
Write down a few letters on the whiteboard or chart paper. Have the student come up and circle the letters that match the sounds of the picture cards.
-
Play a game of "I Spy" with the flashcards. Say "I spy with my little eye something that starts with the sound /a/ (for example)." Encourage the student to find the correct flashcard.
