Objective
By the end of this lesson, the toddler will be able to understand basic arithmetic concepts related to fire trucks.
Materials and Prep
- Toy fire truck
- Counting cards (1-10)
- Fire truck coloring page
- Crayons or markers
Before starting the lesson, make sure the toddler is familiar with counting numbers from 1 to 10.
Activities
- Show the toddler the toy fire truck and ask them to count the number of wheels on the truck.
- Use the counting cards to practice counting from 1 to 10. Have the toddler place the correct number of cards next to the fire truck.
- Print out the fire truck coloring page and ask the toddler to color it. While coloring, talk about the different parts of the fire truck, such as the ladder, hose, and sirens.
- Next, ask the toddler to count the number of windows on the fire truck and write the number on the coloring page.
- Finally, ask the toddler to count the number of firefighters on the coloring page and write the number next to them.

- "Now, let's practice counting using these cards. Can you find the number that matches the number of wheels on the fire truck?"
