Activities
- Read a fire fighting book or article: Have the student choose a fire fighting book or article that interests them. Encourage them to read it independently or aloud, depending on their reading level. After reading, ask the student to summarize the main points or share their favorite part of the story.
- Fire fighting vocabulary: Introduce the student to fire fighting vocabulary words such as "firefighter," "hose," "hydrant," "extinguisher," etc. Discuss the meanings of these words and ask the student to create sentences using them.
- Fire safety tips: Discuss fire safety tips with the student, emphasizing the importance of prevention and what to do in case of a fire. Ask the student to write down three fire safety tips in their notebook.
- Firefighter interview: Have the student imagine they are interviewing a firefighter. Ask them to come up with five questions they would like to ask, such as "What inspired you to become a firefighter?" or "What is the most challenging part of your job?" Encourage the student to write down their questions and answers in their notebook.
