Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to review and identify common and uncommon letter sounds from A-Z.
Materials and Prep
You will need a set of flashcards with letters A-Z. Make sure to find a quiet space for the lesson.
Activities
1. Letter Sound Match: Lay out the flashcards and ask the student to match the letter with its corresponding sound. For example, "Can you find the letter 'B' and tell me the sound it makes?" 2. Sound Scavenger Hunt: Hide the flashcards around the room and ask the student to find them. When a card is found, the student should say the sound the letter makes. 3. Letter Sound Song: Sing a fun song that includes the sounds of each letter. You can make up your own tune or find one online.
Kindergarten Grade Talking Points
- "Today, we are going to review the sounds that each letter makes. Let's start with the letter 'A', can you say the sound it makes?"
- "Great job! Now, let's find the letter 'B' and say its sound together."
- "Now, let's play a game where we hide the letters around the room and find them. When we find a letter, we say the sound it makes."
