Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to write a short story about their favorite Bluey character.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Pencils or crayons
- Bluey coloring pages (optional)
No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Introduction to Bluey (5 minutes)
Show the student pictures of Bluey and briefly talk about the character. Ask the student what they like about Bluey and why. - Brainstorming (10 minutes)
Help the student brainstorm ideas for their story. Ask questions like:- What adventures could Bluey have?
- Who could be Bluey's friends in the story?
- What problem could Bluey solve?
- Writing the Story (15 minutes)
Provide the student with paper and pencils or crayons. Ask them to write a short story about Bluey based on their brainstormed ideas. Remind them to include a beginning, middle, and end in their story. - Illustrating the Story (10 minutes)
If the student enjoys drawing, ask them to illustrate their story by creating pictures to go along with the text. They can use Bluey coloring pages as inspiration or draw their own illustrations. - Sharing and Discussion (5 minutes)
Allow the student to share their story and illustrations with you. Ask them questions about their story and encourage them to explain their creative choices.
