Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will learn about different types of food and how they are important for our bodies.
Materials and Prep
- A variety of food items (fruits, vegetables, grains, proteins, etc.)
- A plate or a tray
- A notebook and crayons
Before starting the lesson, make sure the student is familiar with basic food groups and can identify different types of food.
Activities
- Sorting Food Groups: Ask the student to sort the food items into different groups such as fruits, vegetables, grains, and proteins. They can place each type of food on the plate or tray accordingly.
- Food Drawing: Have the student choose their favorite food from each group and draw a picture of it in their notebook. Encourage them to use bright colors and be creative!
- Healthy Meal Creation: Challenge the student to create a healthy meal using at least one food item from each group. They can arrange the food items on a pretend plate or draw a picture of the meal in their notebook.
- Taste Test: Select a few different foods from each group and have a taste test. Ask the student to describe the taste, texture, and color of each food item. Discuss which ones they liked the most and why.
