Encourage them to make a list of these preferences on paper or digitally.

Guide the student to search for books based on their preferences.

Help them understand how to use the catalog's search function, including keywords, titles, authors, and subjects.

Once they find a book of interest, discuss how to locate it within the library using call numbers or shelf markers.

  3. Engage in a scavenger hunt within the library to practice finding different types of books and resources.

Provide a list of specific books or topics for the student to locate.

Encourage them to ask library staff for assistance if needed.

  4. Discuss the organization of a library, including the Dewey Decimal System or other classification systems used.
