Talking Points
- "Today we are going to learn how to read words using phonics rules. Phonics helps us understand the sounds that letters make in words."
- "Let's start with simple words like 'cat' and 'dog'. Can you sound out each letter and then blend them together to say the word?"
- "When we see the letter 'a' in a word, it often makes the 'ah' sound. Can you think of other words that have the 'ah' sound in them?"
- "Reading stories is a great way to practice our phonics skills. Let's read this story together and pay attention to the sounds each letter makes."
- "Remember, practice makes perfect! The more we practice reading with phonics, the better we will become at reading new words."
