By the end of this lesson, Elisabeth will be able to enjoy the story of the Gingerbread Man and actively participate in a pretend search for him in the forest.

Materials and Prep

  • Copy of "The Gingerbread Man" story
  • Imagination and enthusiasm!

Activities

  • Read "The Gingerbread Man" story together and discuss the characters.

  • Create a pretend forest in the living room using furniture and blankets.

  • Pretend to be the Gingerbread Man and run around the forest while Elisabeth tries to catch you.

  • "Once upon a time, there was a gingerbread man who ran away from everyone!"
  • "Can you imagine what it would be like to run as fast as the Gingerbread Man?"
  • "Let's pretend this blanket is the forest where the Gingerbread Man is hiding."
