Choose a book that you enjoy reading. It can be a fiction or non-fiction book.

Read a chapter or a section of the book.

Identify the main characters in the story and write down their names in your notebook.

Think about the actions and decisions of the characters you identified. What motivates them to act the way they do? Write down their motivations next to their names in your notebook.

Discuss your findings with a parent or guardian. Explain why you think the characters are motivated in certain ways.

Continue reading the book and repeat steps 2-5 for more chapters or sections.
