Objective

By the end of this lesson, Chelsea will have a deeper understanding of Chapter 2 of "Fox and the Mud Men." She will be able to answer workbook questions confidently and discuss the themes, characters, and events in the chapter.

Activities

• Read Aloud

  Chelsea will read Chapter 2 aloud, either to herself or to a family member. This helps with comprehension and allows her to hear the rhythm of the language.

• Character Mapping

  After reading, Chelsea will create a character map detailing the main characters introduced in Chapter 2, including their traits and relationships with one another.

• Creative Writing

  Chelsea will write a short diary entry from the perspective of one of the characters in Chapter 2, expressing their thoughts and feelings about the events that occurred.

• Discussion Time

  Engage in a discussion about the chapter. Chelsea can share her thoughts on the plot and how it connects to her own experiences or other stories she knows.
