Materials and Prep

Before the lesson, choose a few storybooks that are colorful and have interesting illustrations. Make sure the reading area is cozy and free from distractions.
Activities
- Story Time Theater
Amelia can pick a short story and act it out! She can use her imagination to become the characters and create fun voices. This will help her connect with the story in a lively way.
- Artful Reading
After reading a story, Amelia can draw her favorite scene or character. This allows her to express her understanding of the story visually and makes reading more interactive.
- Sticky Note Words
Choose some fun words from the story and write them on sticky notes. Amelia can place them around her reading space and then create silly sentences using those words!
- Reading Relay
Set a timer and challenge Amelia to read as many pages as she can in a fun way! She can take breaks to dance or stretch between pages to keep her energy up.
