Objective
By the end of this lesson, Braxtron will be able to recognize and say the letters of the alphabet, understand their sounds, and identify words that start with each letter.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Crayons or markers
- Space to move around
- Creative imagination!
Before the lesson, make sure Braxtron is comfortable and ready to learn. Have a fun and positive attitude to make the lesson enjoyable!
Activities
-
Alphabet Dance Party:
Play some music and dance! When the music stops, call out a letter and Braxtron has to freeze and make the shape of that letter with his body.
-
Letter Hunt:
Go on a letter hunt around the house! Find items that start with different letters. For example, “Can you find something that starts with ‘B’?”
-
Draw and Color:
Choose a letter and draw a picture of something that starts with that letter. For example, draw an apple for ‘A’ and then color it in!
-
Story Time:
Read a short story together and point out words that start with different letters. Ask Braxtron to repeat those words after you.
