Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify and read different titles of books.
Materials and Prep
- A selection of books with clear titles
- Whiteboard or large paper
- Markers or colored pencils
Activities
- Introduction: Show the student a book and point to the title. Explain that the title is the name of the book.
- Title Match-Up: Prepare the whiteboard or large paper with a list of book titles. Cut out individual titles and mix them up. Have the student match each title to the correct book on the whiteboard.
- Create Your Own Title: Give the student a blank piece of paper and ask them to choose a book from their collection or imagine a book they would like to write. Have them create their own title for the book and draw a picture to go along with it.
- Read and Identify: Choose a few books and read their titles aloud to the student. Have them point to the correct book based on the title you read.
