Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to recognize and identify numbers from 1 to 10.
Materials and Prep
- Number flashcards (1-10)
- Large sheet of paper or whiteboard
- Markers or crayons
No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Show the number flashcards to the student one by one, and ask them to repeat the numbers after you.
- Write the numbers 1 to 10 on the large sheet of paper or whiteboard. Ask the student to point to each number as you call it out.
- Draw simple objects or shapes next to each number on the sheet of paper or whiteboard. For example, draw one apple next to the number 1, two balloons next to the number 2, and so on. Ask the student to count the objects and say the corresponding number.
- Play a game of "Number Hunt" where you hide the flashcards around the room and ask the student to find them. As they find each card, have them say the number out loud.
