Materials and Prep
- Paper and crayons
- A children's book with colorful illustrations
Activities
- Read a book together: Choose a children's book with colorful illustrations. Read the book aloud to the student, pausing to point out and discuss the different characters in the story.
- Draw and describe a character: After reading the book, ask the student to choose their favorite character from the story. Provide them with paper and crayons, and encourage them to draw the character. Then, ask the student to describe the character using simple adjectives. For example, "What color is the character's hair?" or "Is the character tall or short?"

- "Drawing a character and describing it helps us remember and understand the story better."
