Activities
- Activity 1: Emotions in History - Look at pictures of people from different historical periods and discuss their emotions. Talk about how people in the past might have felt happy, sad, excited, or scared, just like we do today.
- Activity 2: Empathy Exercise - Choose a historical event, such as the Civil Rights Movement, and ask the student to imagine how different people involved might have felt. Encourage them to think about the perspectives of both the oppressed and those fighting for equality.
- Activity 3: Sharing Feelings - Have the student share their own feelings about a historical event or figure. Ask why they feel that way and discuss how emotions can shape our understanding of history.
