Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to count to 20 and explore numbers in a fun and engaging way!
Materials and Prep
- No materials required. We will use our imagination and hands-on activities.
- Make sure you have a clear space to move around and explore.
Activities
Activity 1: Number Hunt - Let's go on a number hunt around your house or backyard. Look for numbers on clocks, calendars, or even on objects like toys or books. Whenever you find a number, say it out loud and count up to that number. How many numbers can you find?
Activity 2: Counting with Objects - Collect a bunch of small objects like buttons, blocks, or even cereal pieces. Start with number 1 and place one object on the table. Then say "one". Add another object and say "two". Keep adding objects and counting until you reach 20. Can you make a tower with 20 objects?
Activity 3: Number Line Jump - Draw a number line on the floor using chalk or tape. Start at number 1 and jump to each number as you count. You can hop, skip, or even do a silly dance at each number. How high can you jump on the number line?
